This dark wood side table, a vintage find with a country-inspired feel, brings a warm touch to a living room or bedroom. Its deep-toned wood gives it a balanced presence, while its drawer offers useful storage to keep glasses, a notebook, or small everyday accessories close at hand. Placed beside an armchair, it accommodates a lamp, a book, and a cup, all while remaining easy to tuck into a corner thanks to its modest footprint. Its height also allows it to serve as an occasional stand near a sofa. On its tabletop, a ceramic vase and a few books are enough to create a simple and refined scene.

A brief history of the side table
Born in the 17th century under the name "guéridon," the side table owes its origin to the Moorish slaves (called guéridons) depicted on the carved legs of the first models brought back from Italy. This mobile piece of furniture revolutionized social life at court by breaking the rigidity of large sideboards to create conversation areas anywhere in the room. Its light and compact structure was designed to be moved as needed: to hold a candlestick, a cup of tea, or a bedside book.
