A brief history of the apothecary cabinet
A tool of trade before becoming a decorative object, the apothecary cabinet emerged in the 19th century to meet the precision needs of apothecaries, printers, or seed merchants. Its structure, dictated by use, is recognizable by its multitude of drawers and brass label holders, which allowed stocks to be identified without wasting a second. Whether called a "plan chest" or a "workshop week-chest," it now brings a raw industrial character and exceptional storage capacity. This cabinet tells the story of an era when furniture was an extension of the artisan's hand, making every trace of wear a testament to its past.
