With its light wood and generous proportions, this tradesman's cabinet brings a characterful country touch to a kitchen, entryway, or living room. Its wide top is perfect for holding various objects, lamps, baskets, or everyday items. The small drawer offers discreet storage for cutlery, table linens, or a few accessories. Its woody, understated, and warm material pairs naturally with antique tableware, glass jars, or a bouquet of fresh flowers. A second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its past: the small drawer rubs and is slightly difficult to open and close.

A brief history of the tradesman's cabinet
A working tool before becoming a decorative object, the tradesman's cabinet emerged in the 19th century to meet the precision needs of apothecaries, printers, and grain merchants. Its structure, dictated by its purpose, is recognizable by its multitude of drawers and brass label holders that allowed for stock identification without a second wasted. Whether called a "blueprint cabinet" or "workshop chest," it now provides raw industrial charm and unparalleled storage capacity. This piece tells of an era when furniture was an extension of the artisan's hand, making every sign of wear a testament to its past history.
