The light wood and beige fabric safari chair combines a country look with a sober presence, ideal for a living room or reading nook. Its wooden frame supports a beige fabric seat and backrest, while its proportions allow it to fit in without weighing down the space. The seat invites you to settle in comfortably, with a height designed for daily use around a coffee table or facing a bookshelf. This vintage find pairs easily with linen, a few matte ceramics, or a wooden lamp to compose a soft and measured decor. In a spacious entryway or by a window, it readily welcomes a book and a light throw. Sold individually, 2 units available.

A brief history of the armchair
While the chair is made for work or dining, the armchair was born in the 17th century for a single mission: rest. Its name derives from the Old French "faudesteuil," a folding seat for dignitaries, but it evolved under Louis XV to become the comfortable piece of furniture equipped with armrests that we know today. Unlike a chair, it favors a wider seat and a reclined backrest, inviting conversation rather than rigid posture. Whether it is a "bergère" with enclosed sides to shelter from drafts or a lighter "bridge" armchair, it embodies the evolution of the art of living.
