This light wood rattan and bamboo armchair combines a delicate presence with a 1970s spirit in a contemporary interpretation. Its natural weave and sunflower motif give it a bohemian look, while its seat height invites you to settle in comfortably in a living room, conservatory, or bedroom. Carefully curated, this second-hand piece appeals through the finesse of its materials and the interplay between bamboo and rattan. It pairs perfectly with a raw wood side table, a few books, and a lamp placed nearby. In a bright entryway, it can hold a folded throw and a ceramic vase on a nearby console.

A brief history of the armchair
A true wicker throne, the Emmanuelle armchair traces its origins to Polynesia, where it served as a ceremonial seat for tribal chiefs. Its spectacular fan-shaped back, with its intricate weave flaring out to form a halo, was designed to protect the dignitary's head from drafts while asserting their presence. Initially called the "Pomare armchair," it owes its current name to the global success of the eponymous 1970s film, which turned it into an icon of bohemian and sensual design.
