Discover this antique wooden secretary, with a sober elegance that naturally fits into a living room or an entryway. Its lifting top reveals a well-designed workspace, featuring eight small compartments and four drawers on each side to organize mail and accessories. The proportions and the warm patina of the wood create an intimate atmosphere conducive to writing or remote work. Some traces of time are present.

A Brief History of the Desk
It all began with the "bure," a thick, brown wool cloth that covered the tables of monastic scribes to protect their precious manuscripts. By extension, the table itself eventually took on the name of the fabric that covered it: the bureau (desk). Unlike the secretary, it is defined by its wide, fixed top and visible legs, offering an uncluttered space for reflection. Also known as a "flat-top desk," it remains the centerpiece for anchoring a workspace with character.
