This wooden and metal desk and chair set, distressed for a child's bedroom, combines the softness of light wood with a black frame in a simple and elegant country style. Its height under the tabletop allows you to sit comfortably to draw, read, or do homework, while the matching child's chair perfectly completes the set. The size of this furniture allows it to fit into a corner of the room or in a play area without weighing down the layout. It pairs easily with a wooden chair, a few notebooks, and a desk lamp with discreet lines. Placed near a window, the desk holds pencils, sheets, and little everyday treasures, with the child's chair by its side.

A little history of the desk
It all starts with the "bure", that thick brown wool cloth that covered the tables of copying monks to protect their precious manuscripts. By extension, the table itself eventually took the name of the fabric that covered it: the desk. Unlike the secretary, it is defined by its wide fixed tabletop and exposed legs, offering an unadorned space for reflection. Also called a "flat desk", it remains the centerpiece for anchoring a workspace with character.
