This light wood desk, accompanied by its compass-legged children's chair, brings a soft and refined country feel to a bedroom or drawing corner. The desk offers a drawer to keep pencils, notebooks, or little treasures close at hand, while maintaining a light presence. Its wooden lines pair easily with vintage decor, light-colored walls, or natural home textiles. The chair, designed for children, completes the set perfectly and invites both playtime and first homework sessions. Sourced second-hand, it also lends itself to a simple and charming setting, placed near a window with a pencil pot and a few picture books.

A little history of the desk
It all began with the "bure," a thick brown wool cloth that covered the tables of copying monks to protect their precious manuscripts. By extension, the table itself eventually took the name of the fabric that covered it: the desk. Unlike a secretary desk, it is defined by its wide fixed top and exposed legs, offering an unadorned space for reflection. Also known as a "flat desk," it remains the centerpiece for anchoring a workspace with character.
