With its dark wood and green top, this vintage country-style desk brings a sober and refined touch to any interior. Its six drawers, complemented by a large drawer under the top, offer organized storage for papers, mail, and office supplies, while the height of the surface is suitable for daily use in a home office or bedroom. The slender proportions of this wooden piece allow it to slip easily against a wall without weighing down the room. On the desk, a lamp, a notebook, and a few address books create an elegant scene. As a second-hand piece, it bears the marks of its history: a few traces of time.

A brief history of the desk
It all begins with the "bure," a thick, brown wool cloth that covered the tables of copyist monks to protect their precious manuscripts. By extension, the table itself eventually took the name of the fabric that covered it: "bureau" (desk). Unlike a secretary desk, it is defined by its wide, fixed top and visible legs, offering a space for reflection without artifice. Also known as a "flat desk," it remains a centerpiece for grounding a workspace with character.
