With its two clear glass panels and two black marble spheres, this second-hand coffee table makes a very sleek contemporary statement. The dialogue between glass and marble gives it a graphic look, while allowing the living room to breathe and keeping the focus on the objects placed on top. Its low top naturally accommodates art books, a vase, or a serving tray, in an interior with a sober and refined taste. It slips easily in front of a sofa, where the contrast of the black marble highlights a light decor or warmer materials. Topped with a few magazines and a lamp placed nearby, it creates an elegant and understated living room corner.

A little history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table only truly appears at the beginning of the 20th century with the evolution of living rooms towards more comfort and relaxation. Its structure, deliberately low to align with the seat of the armchairs, is inspired by oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Called a "living room table" or "cocktail table", it is defined by its generous top supported by a short and robust base.
