With its black smoked glass top, this vintage coffee table features a sober and graphic design, ideal for a contemporary living room. Its geometric structure made of wood and panels, accented by triangular legs, gives it a stable and clean silhouette that is easy to pair with a low sofa or a textured rug. Its moderate size makes it a pleasant living room piece for everyday use, perfect for holding books, a bouquet, or decorative objects without cluttering the room. The smoked glass offers deep reflections that interact well with materials like light wood, linen, or black metal. On a cream rug, it creates a refined setting when styled with a few magazines and a table lamp. As a second-hand piece, it bears the traces of its history: visible surface scratches.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly emerge until the early 20th century, as living rooms evolved toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the seat height of armchairs, was inspired by 19th-century oriental tea tables and coffee stands. Called a "salon table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous top supported by short, sturdy legs.
