With its light wood and metal legs, this second-hand bedside table embodies a contemporary, understated style that is easy to coordinate. The top can hold a lamp, a book, or a glass of water, while its drawer offers discreet storage to keep essentials close at hand. The wood adds a soft touch, which the lines of the metal highlight perfectly, whether in a bedroom with minimalist decor or a more eclectic interior. Placed at the end of a sofa or on either side of a bed, it maintains a clean and functional look. Tucked under a metal pendant light, it serves as a home for a few books and an antique alarm clock. As a second-hand item, it carries the history of its past life: signs of wear.

A brief history of the coffee table
Unlike dining tables, the coffee table did not truly emerge until the early 20th century, as living rooms evolved toward greater comfort and relaxation. Its structure, intentionally low to align with the seating height of armchairs, was inspired by oriental tea tables and 19th-century coffee stands. Known as a "living room table" or "cocktail table," it is defined by its generous top supported by a short, sturdy base.
