This pair of green wooden chairs with cane seats brings a gentle, refined country feel to a dining room or kitchen. Their cane seating lightens the overall look, while the painted wood provides a sober presence that is easy to pair with an antique table or a more minimalist decor. Carefully sourced, they offer pleasant comfort for daily meals and moments shared over coffee. Their size allows them to be easily arranged around a table without cluttering the space. Placed near a weathered wooden table, they welcome vintage linens and earthenware plates. Like any second-hand item, they bear the marks of their history: a few traces of time.

A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a chair with a backrest was a rare privilege, reserved for the person leading the assembly: the "president" (from the Latin praesidere, to sit before). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools used by common people, the chair only became democratized in the 18th century to become an everyday object. It is distinguished from the armchair by the absence of armrests, a structure designed to offer complete freedom of movement around a table or desk. The result of a constant quest for balance between lightness and sturdiness, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making every seat a witness to the history of comfort.
