This set of three white wooden chairs embodies a sober and luminous country spirit, with a light wood seat that adds a soft touch to the whole. Their classic format and comfortable seat height make them easy allies to tuck around a kitchen table, in a dining room, or in a more intimate dining nook. The contrast between the white and the light wood highlights a simple aesthetic, easy to pair with natural linens, a rustic table, or vintage tableware. Their slender silhouette also allows them to be used as accent pieces in a bedroom or entryway. A second-hand set, it bears the traces of its history: some signs of wear.

A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a seat with a backrest was a rare privilege reserved for the person leading the assembly: the "president" (from the Latin praesidere, to sit before). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools of the common people, the chair did not become democratized until the 18th century, when it became an everyday object. It is distinguished from the armchair by the absence of armrests, a structure designed to offer total freedom of movement around a table or desk. The result of a constant quest between lightness and sturdiness, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making every seat a witness to the history of comfort.
