A centerpiece of 18th-century salons, the games table is a symbol of the art of living and conviviality under Louis XV. Featuring a swivel or removable top, it often conceals a felt-lined interior in green for cards or chess. Whether called a "bouillotte table" or a "system table," it falls into either a Classical or Directoire style depending on its base.
