A centerpiece of 18th-century salons, the game table is a symbol of the art of living and conviviality under Louis XV. Featuring a pivoting or removable top, it often concealed a felt-lined interior for cards or chess. Whether called a "bouillotte table" or a "system table," it falls into a Classical or Directoire style depending on its base. Today, it is readily repurposed as an entrance console or a unique occasional desk.
