A Brief History of the Game Table
A centerpiece of 18th-century salons, the game table symbolized the art of living and conviviality under Louis XV. Featuring a pivoting or removable top, it often concealed a felt-lined interior, typically green, for cards or chess. Whether called a "bouillotte table" or a "system table," it fit into a Classical or Directoire style depending on its base. Today, it is readily repurposed as an entrance console or a unique accent desk.
