With their forest green hue and rattan weave, these thrifted nesting tables bring a contemporary, graphic touch to the living room. Their lightweight rattan straw silhouette plays on contrasts, balancing natural material with bold color to create a set that is as decorative as it is practical. Tucked under one another, they offer three levels of side tables to be deployed as needed, next to a sofa or at the end of an armchair. Their modest size allows them to be placed without cluttering the room, while maintaining true versatility. In an interior mixing light wood, linen, and ceramics, they readily welcome a stack of books, a cup of coffee, and a single-stem vase.

A brief history of nesting tables
Invented at the end of the 18th century by the English cabinetmaker Thomas Sheraton, nesting tables are a set of tables of decreasing sizes that fit one under the other. Prized during the Art Deco period for their geometry, then reinvented in the 50s and 60s with organic lines, they embody modular furniture at its best. They are named by analogy to Russian dolls, offering an ingenious space-saving solution for small areas. Versatile, they serve in turn as coffee tables, bedside tables, or side stands depending on your needs at the moment.
