A short history of the bench
Did you know that the word "banquet" comes directly from "banc" (bench)? As early as the Middle Ages, this convivial piece of furniture brought guests together around large lordly tables. Whether it is country chic or industrial in style, it is distinguished by its collective seating and robust nature. Sometimes called a "farm bench" or "banquette", it fits into a rustic or vintage aesthetic depending on its patina. Today, it finds its place in an entryway or around a modern table to offer generous seating and a touch of soul.
