A brief history of the serving cart
The serving cart, also known as a tea trolley, emerged in the 17th century. At the time, it was used to serve and clear dishes and tableware during meals. Equipped with wheels, it could be moved from one place to another effortlessly, making it faster to clear the table by reducing the number of trips between the dining room and the kitchen. It was its great utility that made the serving cart an important piece of furniture, also used for serving tea or breakfast. Over the centuries, this small mobile side table has found a place of choice in our homes.
