This Gerlinol trolley, a vintage yet contemporary find, charms with its folding design in camel wood-effect Formica and a chrome metal frame. With its top shelf, comfortably high storage niche, and a frame that folds down completely, it is perfect for serving in the kitchen or as a coffee station in the dining room. Its four original casters make it easy to move, while it remains unobtrusive when folded, standing on its own. We can easily imagine it holding a few glasses, a carafe, and a bouquet for a perfectly styled interior scene. Like any secondhand piece, it bears the marks of its history: its four original casters are slightly misaligned.

A brief history of the trolley
The trolley, also known as a serving table, originated in the 17th century. At the time, it was used to serve and clear dishes and tableware during meals. Equipped with casters, it could be moved from one place to another effortlessly, allowing for quicker clearing of the table by reducing the number of trips between the dining room and the kitchen. Because of its great utility, the trolley became an important piece of furniture, also used for serving tea or breakfast. Over the centuries, this small, mobile side table has earned a place of honor in our homes.
