A brief history of the trolley
The trolley, also known as a serving table, originated in the 17th century. At the time, it was used to serve and clear dishes and tableware during meals. Equipped with casters, it could be moved from one place to another effortlessly, allowing the table to be cleared more quickly by reducing the number of trips between the dining room and the kitchen. Because of its great utility, the trolley became an important piece of furniture, also used for serving tea or breakfast. Over the centuries, this small mobile side table has found a prime place in our homes.
