With its black metal frame and metal slats, this second-hand chair boasts a contemporary, understated, and graphic aesthetic. The seat is well-suited for a dining table, a desk, or an entryway, where its compact size allows it to be placed without weighing down the space. The metal gives it a clean and durable character, while the black color creates a sharp presence that is easy to pair with wood, leather, or light-colored textiles. In a kitchen, it looks great alongside a weathered wooden table and a few pieces of tableware to create a curated, vintage-style dining nook.

A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a chair with a backrest was a rare privilege, reserved for the person leading the assembly: the "president" (from the Latin praesidere, to sit before). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools used by the common people, the chair only became democratized in the 18th century, evolving into an everyday object. It is distinguished from an armchair by the absence of armrests, with a structure designed to offer total freedom of movement around a table or desk. The result of a constant quest for balance between lightness and solidity, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making every chair a witness to the history of comfort.
