This pair of light blue Formica chairs brings a fresh, contemporary touch to the dining table. Their simple lines and standard seat height make them easy to integrate into a kitchen, dining nook, or home office, while Formica remains a practical material for everyday use. With their compact size and modest seat width, they slide effortlessly into small spaces and pair beautifully with a wooden table or a more graphic interior. As secondhand finds, these chairs appeal with their soft tone and clean silhouette. Around a white table, paired with discreet lighting and a few colorful glasses, they create a fresh setting. As vintage items, they bear the marks of their history: the legs are oxidized, and they are sold as-is.

A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a chair with a backrest was a rare privilege, reserved for the person leading the assembly: the "president" (from the Latin praesidere, to sit before). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools used by the common people, the chair did not become democratized until the 18th century, eventually becoming an everyday object. It is distinguished from the armchair by the absence of armrests, a structure designed to offer total freedom of movement around a table or desk. The result of a constant quest for balance between lightness and solidity, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making each seat a witness to the history of comfort.
