This pair of second-hand chairs appeals with its clean combination of silver chrome and green leather, in a contemporary spirit. Their chrome structure highlights a sober line, while the leather seat and backrest offer comfort suitable for both meals and a desk. They fit well around a dining table or accompany a workspace, with an elegant presence that does not weigh down the space. Placed around a round table, they compose a refined set and welcome everyday moments with distinction. Being a second-hand piece, it keeps the memory of its history: a few traces of time. A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a chair with a backrest was a rare privilege, reserved for the person leading the assembly: the “president” (from the Latin praesidere, to sit in front). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools of the common people, the chair only became democratized in the 18th century to become an everyday object. It is distinguished from the armchair by the absence of armrests, a structure designed to offer total freedom of movement around a table or desk. The result of a constant quest between lightness and solidity, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making each seat a witness to the history of comfort.
