This second-hand pair of wooden and fabric chairs charms with its light wood, beige, and brown tones, highlighted by a subtly striped seat. Their wooden construction gives them a sober presence, while the fabric seat provides pleasant comfort for lingering over meals around a contemporary table. With a seat height designed for daily use, they fit naturally into a dining room or a well-kept kitchen. Their visual balance blends easily with a raw wood table or a lighter tabletop. Placed near a window, they happily welcome an open book and a cup set on the table. Sold as a pair, one set available.

A brief history of the chair
In the Middle Ages, sitting on a chair with a backrest was a rare privilege, reserved for the person presiding over the assembly: the "president" (from the Latin praesidere, to sit before). Long a symbol of prestige compared to the benches and stools of the common people, the chair did not become democratized until the 18th century, evolving into an everyday object. It is distinguished from the armchair by the absence of armrests, a structure designed to offer total freedom of movement around a table or desk. The fruit of a constant quest for balance between lightness and solidity, it has evolved from carved solid wood to more modern lines, making each seat a witness to the history of comfort.
