A brief history of the guéridon
Appearing in the 17th century, the guéridon takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who held a torch. Initially designed as a stand for lighting (candlesticks, lamps), this small occasional piece of furniture is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central base. Whether it's an Empire style in solid mahogany or Seventies in rattan, it adapts to all interiors as a sofa side table or display table. Today, it remains the centerpiece for structuring a reading nook with elegance and lightness.
