A brief history of the guéridon
Appearing in the 17th century, the guéridon takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who held a torch. Initially designed as a support for lighting (candlesticks, lamps), this small occasional table is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central pedestal. Whether it's Empire style in solid mahogany or Seventies in rattan, it adapts to all interiors as a side table or display table. Today, it remains the centerpiece for structuring a reading nook with elegance and lightness.
