A brief history of the gueridon
Appearing in the 17th century, the gueridon takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who held a torch. Initially designed as a support for lighting (candlesticks, lamps), this small occasional piece of furniture is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central base. Whether it's Empire style in solid mahogany or Seventies in rattan, it adapts to all interiors as a sofa end table or display table. Today, it remains the centerpiece for elegantly and lightly structuring a reading nook.
