A brief history of the guéridon
Appearing in the 17th century, the guéridon takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon", who held a torch. Originally designed as a stand for lighting (candle holders, lamps), this small occasional table is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central pedestal. Whether in an Empire style in solid mahogany or a Seventies style in rattan, it adapts to any interior as an end table or display table. Today, it remains the centerpiece for creating a reading nook with elegance and lightness.
