A brief history of the pedestal table
Appearing in the 17th century, the "guéridon" takes its name from a ballet character, "Guéridon," who held a torch. Initially designed as a support for lighting (candlesticks, lamps), this small side table is distinguished by its circular top resting on a single central base. Whether in an Empire style made of solid mahogany or a Seventies style in rattan, it adapts to any interior as a side table or display table. Today, it remains a centerpiece for structuring a reading corner with elegance and lightness.
