Description

Discover Réparation 9 , a unique work by Bernard Gortais , created in 2025. Painted in acrylic and gold leaf on cardboard, this piece is part of a series inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, an ancestral art of repairing broken porcelain using gold powder. Beyond the aesthetic gesture, this work explores the beauty of cracks, fragilities, and rebirths. Gold, far from masking the breakage, highlights it, reminding us that repair is an integral part of being. Between formal rigor and luminous poetry, the artist creates here a sensitive composition where the material becomes a symbol of resilience and balance. A contemporary creation presented by the Parisian gallery Wilo & Grove .

Parisian artist Bernard Gortais has been developing an abstract oeuvre for over forty years, blending matter, chance, and philosophy.
