Welcome to Miss Madeline's Agathe
This week, we had the chance to meetAgathe , in her incredible apartment in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Agathe is (among other things) a decorator and we would have guessed it quickly! In the cozy atmosphere that reigns, in its always well thought out staging and of course in the choice of its furniture and the nuggets unearthed during its flea market outings. This magnificent space seduced us thanks to the intense luminosity offered by the windows and the glass roof, the dominant light colors and all the little details that bring a crazy charm. It almost feels like a small country house… in the heart of Paris.
Agatha, can you introduce yourself? Where are we ?
I am a decorator, I work in events but I also do interior decoration. I love my children, tinkering, flowers and I dream of a garden! That's why we're moving soon. We are in our nice apartment / loft in the 9th near rue des Martyrs. We all 4 live with my lover Florian and our children Anouk and George. We love the neighborhood!
What were your first desires for your interior?
I immediately flashed on the incredible light thanks to the glass roof and the glass roof of this apartment. We didn't really transform it, we just added the storage units, the TV cabinet and of course George's bedroom nestled above the living room. All this made by my dad and my brother.
How did you furnish and accessorize it?
I am very very materialistic, I have a passion for my decorative objects. I've had certain objects for years, I'm a bit obsessed with decorating. I especially like that the whole family feels good there, that it is warm . I wanted soft colors, my favorite objects and lots of plants :)
What is your favorite piece of furniture?
I love my Pipistrello lamp, my Picasso lithographs and all of my daughter Anouk's creations! She often makes me little treasures at her pottery class, drawings...
What place does the flea market / the second hand take in your decoration?
Since I was little with my mum, I've been going to fairs for everything, the Emmaüs… so yes , I've always loved antiquing . The idea of potentially finding a little treasure always makes me happy in advance of a flea market! At home, I love the plaster hand, my Nagel candle holders and the little chairs for children…
What is the room where you like to spend the most time?
I love to cook but our kitchen is a bit small. I dream of a future house with a beautiful garden and a small workshop…
How did you come up with the idea of creating your Instagram account?
I launchedmy Instagram account when I worked at Potel et Chabot, I was responsible for the floral workshop so I often posted photos of flowers. I'm not very good or very diligent on Instagram, I only post when I have interesting things to show!
Where do you find your inspirations?
I mainly find my inspirations on Instagram, Pinterest or by reading decoration magazines…
What is your favorite piece from Debongout?
I love Georges gold mirrors, all unique. I also like the cream-colored Estelle lamp and the small Mireille cane boxes.
What is good taste for you?
It's a bit snobbish to say that, but for me good taste is innate. Unfortunately it doesn't really work. When it's not innate, we get help, from professionals or by scanning Pinterest!
